Why apply for funding?
Prevalence of CKM diseases is rising rapidly as populations age and risk factors increase. There is an urgent need to enhance local provision of CKM prevention and rehabilitation services, aligning with national standards for Renal, Cardiac, and Diabetes.
We are offering an opportunity to apply for 50% match funding to assist adoption of our new clinically-proven digital health pathway, providing exercise, education, diet and health coaching tailored for CKM conditions.
This innovative model has recently been developed in partnership with North Central London ICB, King’s College Hospital London, the NHS England Kidney and Cardiovascular Networks, and the NHS Innovation Accelerator.

More About Beam’s Digital Health Intervention
Beam delivers evidence-based CKM rehabilitation through live/on-demand exercise and education classes, disease-specific resources, clinical referral and coaching, and personalised care planning.
It is the first digital health tool to offer CKM-specific exercise and lifestyle rehabilitation, addressing high-cost areas such as dialysis, transplant, and prehabilitation, for both chronic and acute patients:
Clinically-proven to improve health outcomes for patients with CKM disease
Lowers care costs by £580 per patient, across inpatient, outpatient, A&E, primary care, community care and medication spend
Provides a return-on-investment of £6 for every £1 spent
Get Ahead of the Curve Before NICE Recommendation
In new guidance just published, the Beam intervention has been recommended for routine adoption by Health Technology Wales. NICE recommendation is also expected to swiftly follow on under an “adopt or justify” model.
